The Korean Pop girl group LOONA is a major inspiration for me. Not only does their music videos present a wide range of song genres and aesthetic design, but all of their content pieces together into the increasingly complex narrative that is the LOONAVERSE. This story contains so many inspiring elements from androids, to dimension jumping, to biblical parallels, I felt compelled to interpret some of their visuals into illustrations, as if LOONA were to develop an animated adaptation.
Originally a more general commission for a anime-inspired poster, the client mentioned a love for Castle in the Sky that resulted in this illustration narrowing its scope to this specific film.
